Default Trans temp senser

Im thinking about ordering some gauges but I dont feel like putting the sender in the pan is a great idea, Im wondering is the old trans temp sender from the factory tied into the pcm? Like it makes the trans shift weird or anything?

Thanks,
Cheat.

I installed mine in the front servo test port, I ran the wires trough the fire wall
at the wire harness then across the fire wall under the hood seal then zip tied
it to trans dip stick and your there, my gauge works great there.
I tried to install a document to show location of port but could not.
It is on passenger side closest to the dip stick.

I didnt like the idea either, Just the fact that the fluid isnt as hot as the trans, Kinda like the water in your radiatior, Its not as hot as the motor. Also, if oyu plan on doing gauges the oil pressure and oil temp is best done with this:

Easy to install, Maybe 5 min to install and maybe 15 to wire, Easyest thing ive ever done.
