whats the diff in egr/non? ithought they were the same

I was wondering the same thing, because when you search for them they come up with two different part numbers, also put side by side on the bottom plate, the blowhole for the MAP is molded differently, it's in the same spot but it's recessed when the one's that do have egr's are simple holes right on the bottom of the plate

Not in a 54mm. A stock TB can only go up to 53mm and anything above that will have to be billet. You could check with F&B.

Other than the throttle cable being different, they pickup the vac for the MAP sensor and EGR valve or evap system in different places on the TB. If you try to interchange them, you'll get a high idle issue.

This is a pic of the base of a non-EGR TB. Notice the vac notches in the base.


This is the EGR TB and notice there is no vac notches in the base. The vac comes from 2 small holes in the front inside of the bores.

with running the risk of sounding stupid...how do you know which one you have...egr or non??? obviously without removing the tb...too cold outside
