How to remove needles off of gauges
Not sure which kit. Was like $12 on ebay. I got the powered vesrion and used the ashtray lighting for power. It was super easy to install, the olny problem was when I pulled the clear plastic cover off of the gauge cluster the legs broke off and so now I don't have any cover over the gauges while looking for anothe cover. BTW Mopar wants $95 for this clear cover. I ain't even paying that.
Hey guys. Bought a 2000 dodge ram 1500 sport off road pkg. Previous owner had a layover light up face gauges . I didn't like it so I removed it. In doing so I removed all the needles. Put back on now gauges don't read correct. If I would have known the needles would cause this issue I would have cut the layover off around them. I have don't the gauge reset and gauge test... Didn't spit any codes and during the gauge sweep, needles didn't work properly....
Any ideas on what it could be.
Bad connection? I did move alot of wires....
Or mechanical issue with the needles themselves ?
Going to remove and put back on see if sensitive to a certain way on...
Appreciate any other input!

Some of the gauges have internal stops(low and high) where the speedo and tack have external stops. If you knew where they where pointing before you removed them then it would be easy to reinstall. If you don't then you need to know where the needle points in low or high stop positions before you put the needles back on. The speedo and tack are the tricky ones, I would imagine the factory gave each gauge a certain voltage in order for it to point to a certain place on the gauge face. But with out knowing either it's hard to figure out.
This is going to be one of those situations where you are going to need to know what the ACTUAL values are that the gauges SHOULD be displaying, see what the gauges are really displaying, and then shuffle them accordingly.
No experience with Dodge clusters but I helped my brother with some problems on a Honda a few years back. On that car they had little clips on the needles as well, when you popped the needles off they would go flying and were clear and almost impossible to find. Not sure if that helps, good luck!
