Im thinking about buying indiglo glow gauge cover for my gauges from ebay. Does anyone know how hard it is to remove and put back the needles on the speedometer tach oil temp etc. I have 2000 ram 1500 sport.

You don't have to remove them. Just cut a needle
slit in them. Mine came with the slits already cut.

If its a good kit they should supply a needle removing tool. Just need to pry up gently with the tool between the gauge face & needle.

FYI, before removing the gauges. Allow the truck to fully warm up. Take a few pictures of the gauges where they are all sitting at idle. Can use them for references to get the needles back where they started so they read accurate. I was able to get mine pretty well bang on. Went by a radar & asked the cop if I drove by again could he tell me exactly how fast I was going to make sure mine were correct.

I wouldn't even attempt to remove the gauge needles. Would probably ruin the gauge. The item on eBay does not require needle removal for installation. From what I've read, it is a tricky deal, but can be done with patience and steady hands.

All the older kits came with tools. Removing the needles was no biggy IMHO

i wouldnt remove the needle....i did in my 96 Sunfire i had, andnone of the guages worked after getting it back in....Speedo would kick on when over 70 mphs though but thats it....tach, gas guageand temp all never worked again after i took them out....had to send out the cluster to be "Re-done" which sucked......So i wouldnt try removing the needles

Like I said. No needle removal is necessary unless you are just looking for trouble. The kit I got and installed has a tiny slit designed to pass the needles through. Easy to do, and you can't tell once it is installed.
