What is the camshaft senSer called, phoned a parts store and they couldnt find it ...?

Its spelled "Sensor"

Camshaft Position Sensor.

I just read about someone else who had this problem. I think they refer to it as 'pickup coil' or somethin like that....

Camshaft position sensor / pickup coil / distributor pickup, they're all the same thing.

Question distributor pickup

Hope this is what yer lookin for O'Reilly Auto calls it a distributor pickup http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/se...kup&vi=1366590

this is the prt I'm having trouble with i think when i put the truck into prk the idel goes up & down and i have to hit the gas to get it to calm down

Might have better luck with an IAC valve or even the TPS for that particular problem.
