Default another grinding noise

Hello everyone,
I have just bought a 99 ram 5.9 QC 8ft box. truck is in great shape. I just did the front passenger side wheel bearing, and i know that the shop said I should do the sway bar links but I have developed a slight grind on the front drivers side. I only notice it at low speed and when on the brakes. I havent had a chance to pull the wheel yet. the only weird thing is that at low speed,,,, it seems like it grinds at a certain spot of the wheel rotation. (does that make sense)??? just wondering if there is anything i should look out for???? also when im on a bumpy road, there is a rattle coming from that same wheel. thanks for the help and Great Site!

Check the pads and check the rotor. They could be bad. And welcome to DF. Also check your U-Joint.

sounds like the squealers touching on worn out brake pads.

Sounds like your rotors need turned and the squealer may be hitting. Your rattle may be from the pad if it is low, some bads have a metal piece of the back of them to help with squealing, i think thats what its for, but that has came loose before on me and rattled.

ok, thanks guys. I'll check it out after work today. the only thing that was making me wonder is that I just had to have my truck saftey inspected (ontario, canada) before i could put er on the road. I was thinking that a mechanic woulda soaked me for a set of brakes if he coulda got away with it. I'll post back

Welcome to DF, now go put all the info about your truck in your sig. This way you don't have to type it and we dont have to guess Like if it's 4x4 or not. If it is, maybe that wheel bearing is bad too,or the axle ujoints are shot.

Some inspection places don't even bother looking at the brakes and all that fun jazz. They just check lights, E-Brake and plug it in to the computer for emissions. (If you have a 96 +)

no emissions here my friend!!!! the emissions crap stops about 40 minutes south of here! but unfortunately the garages soak people for their vehicle saftey certifications. I didnt have time to pull my wheel but i felt the rotor and it wasnt rough. I know, im lazy but it gets dark about 20 minutes after im finished work. now, what kinda noise does a Ujoint make when its going bad??? i know a WB hums cause i just did the passenger side and im sure a bad WB would grind as well, but wouldnt it grind all the time??? cause like i said..... it seems to grind when the wheel is in a certain spot in its rotation. like say im doin 15km/hr it would go -grind--------grind-------grind------- lol, make sense??? but im pretty sure its only when im on the breaks.
