water pump for 1996 Ram

The threaded part they are referring to is the heater hose connection on the front drivers side. Some have the screw in nipple and others have the slide in tube with the o-ring seal.

The older style bolt on pully water pumps are interchangable with the press on pully style, but you'll need the bolt on pulley to make it work. I changed out my stock press on pulley water pump for the older style bolt on pulley so I would be able to use a billet pulley on my '01 RT. The water pumps bolt up exactly the same...just he pulleys are different.

I can't agree, as I ordered (and received I think) a threaded version and it had the o-ring/non-threaded hole for the heater hose tube, which I replaced with the same style of non-threaded tube. I think my original take on this was correct - bolted pulley or pressed pulley = threaded or non-threaded water pump.
