Damaged Piston...please help

Thanks for the input. Sounds Like I need to replace the piston.
My mechanic I think says it is OK but like I said I don't trust his judgement anymore.
To Mr. Ruckuss, I got the cam at Crower. It was their stage 1 cam. If I remember the specs correctly the lifts were .508" intake and .528" exhaust. The durations were 200/208 @ .05" lift with 114 degree lobe center angle. These are based on a 1.6 rocker ratio. I have 1.7 s.
