Cat. Convertor questions.
You already have the sim, so you might as well gut the cat. After all, that's what the sim is for.
I know that its in the 3rd gen section, but you guys may find this interesting (not to jack the thread completely...):

Trust me, you'll notice it.
Symptoms include but are not limited to: your CEL should come on a with a post-O2 sensor code, your cat might glow red (gets so hot from exhaust gasses not being able to flow through), your truck won't run properly or run at all (some can't get it over 45 mph or less).

Well I don't have a post-O2 sensor. But over the time I have had the truck it does feel like I have been loosing power. Sometimes when I start the truck and the engine is cold it sounds like I have a big cam lobing in the engine. Also sometimes when I put the engine under a load I can hear something rattle and it quits when I let off the gas but it does not rattle ever time.
My problem is i dont have a welder...I can cut my cat off with a hacksaw and put a pipe in its place. But i have no way to weld it. If only i could get a shop to weld it for me. Im not clamping it so i can have exhaust leaks. Its either weld the pipe in or the cat is staying on.
I did ask a shop the other day if they would cut the cat off and put the pipe in its place. They said no.
And this shop is based around drag racing and host's damn track events... If that doesnt tell you somthing i dont know what does. This really sucks!!!

Also how hot will a good working cat get
Another thing I just started to noticed was when I get off the interstate and stop as soon as I get off the ramp I can smell something that smells almost like burning breaks but it is not the breaks could that be the cat getting hot.
