Spark Knock After Hughes Mod
Did the plenum gasket and pan, water pump, and t stat. My plugs and wires are about 6 months old, i haven't rerouted them yet, but i still have some spark knock, its not as loud but i can still hear it. Sea foamed it yesterday but didn't help any comments or suggestions??
did you reset the PCM after the plenum? you do this by turning on the light switch while battery is disconnected, and i always put the key to crank motion for a second, then hook the battery back up.
Does it have the "Deathflash"?

should be right on the PCM at the pass. side firewall in the engine bay....and if you go mudding water could have washed i off...sort of speak
and reset the PCM by doing what i stated above, that may take care of your problem. I was told to do this when i did my plenum with the hughes

hey i see you have a rebuilt tranny, i have started to price rebuild kits what not, but do you know about how much the difference is on a rebuilt tranny or can you buy a whole new tranny, is there a big price diff. i know shops have different pricing but its all generally the same i believe, have any thoughts on that
I never heard spark knock on my truck until after I changed the plenum gasket. But the Superchips tuner was to blame for that. Did you follow the proper torque sequence and use thread locker blue on the pan bolts? You might want to look through the throttle body and see if there is any oil in there.

The PO of my truck had the tranny rebuilt. It had a new TC put in, and the tranny was built to tow (he lived on a farm, he had many trailers) but he put 8K on the tranny and dint really tow before he sold it to me. but he showed me a recipt for the job, and it was $2400 and change, and thats with him taking out the tranny, brining only the tranny to te shop, and putting it back in himself...(he was a mechanic.)
yea about that threadlocker.. didn't put it on there it was on the table in front of me but it somehow got overlooked, yes the torques are correct on the pan, the middle four on the intake are a different story i am hoping i don't have to redo the whole damn thing my pops and uncle were in the shop with me handing me tools and business so i didn't have to keep getting in and out of the engine comp. but set my torque wrench to ft. pounds instead of inches i didn't realize till the last sequence on the middle four bolts
wow that burns a little, i'm just trying to prepare for the worst but hoping for the best. my truck only has 88K but the drivetrain is doing some weird stuff that i don't like
