Well the pinion gear is the one that comes through the back side, but reading that, I guess you don't need to mess with it. It also mentions that you "shouldn't" need a case spreader, so it must be a tight fit. Bigger pry bar? and one for each side, even pressure is probably the key.

i talked to the guy in the machine shop who is doing my u-joints and he said i have to pry harder lol, sometimes they can be a bitch to come out is what he said. I told him what i have taken out, and he said that was everything i needed to take out...Im going to get a rope on it and try to pull, i cant get great leverage for im doing it on my back, and im a tall guy, so i have long arms, and i cant position myself to get a good grip and pry.

So... you still alive? With all the rope, and pulling talk, I'm hoping you're not stuck underneath it...

I got it out lol...i did a side job for someone this afternoon, so i couldnt work on the truck....but i got it. I got the pry bars in, and pushed with all my force. My veins were about to pop through my skin when it finally budged...thank god...but its dark out, so tomorrow, all i have to do is knock out the drivers side axle seal, then put it back together....Got my axle shafts back with my new u-joints, so thats another headache out of the way....Im so excited to get this done so i can get back in some mud lol....there was alot of dirt and mud in the axle tubes...took about an hour just cleaning those, and im still not done...

Will have more pics tomorrow, as well as a completed project *knock on wood*

95RAM360, since you have your truck down for maintenance anyway, you should check the condition of the timing chain. I couldn't believe how much slack mine had at 127000 miles.
There should be a plug on the left side of the timing cover, below the water pump and above the balancer. You should be able to stick a screw driver in there and get a feel for the timing chain after turning the crank to the right a little to get it tight on one side.
If you can't find that plug then I can take a picture for you.

I checked it when doing the timing cover gasket about 4-5 months ago. Tere actually wasnt slack, but im not sureif the PO replaced it, he did do alot of work to the truck. But that was about 9K ago, so i doubt its much worse.

But it will be going again tonight, if i can seat teh pass. axle seal. i have the driver seal done, and the carrier back in, but i cant seat the pass. seal.

Nevermind then, I thought I remembered you mentioning that you have 200k with the stock timing chain a time or two.
