i have noticed that the brake pedal is stiff when i first start off - after a block or so goes back to normal though - the brake pedal is normally supposed to start working half to the floor but mine starts right from the top just starting out then half way after that - im still looking at a lot of different options for this issue - if you find anything tat works could you let me know? and if i figure a solution ill post as well - im contemplating switching to a 48 re transmission if it will bolt up

in my research i have found that the transmission is entering "limp mode" - so shifting is not my issue - it is something else causing the issue causeing it to enter limp mode to prevent transmission damage - i have received some information on the possibility that the wheel speed sensor may need replaced - which brings the fact up - I HAVE OVERSIZED TIRES!! 285/75/16 as opposed to 245/75/16 - so - the tires are brand new - same size as what was on before - i really dont want to spend money on another set of tires and i see i can purchase a calibrator for about $300 - IS THERE ANY CHEAPER WAY OUT?

Correction. I messed up. I meant the gas pedal not the brake pedal.

if your gas pedal is sticking you may have a binding issue somewhere with any of the 3 cables attached to the throttle body or a sticking throttle. id just try to move each cable by hand and eliminate any issues

Usually when the Governor pressure sensor is replaced it is a good idea to replace the Governor pressure transducer as well. it could also be the source of the 3rd gear start.

I have a 98 dodge ram with a 46RE trans..

Ran fine one night and was real slow on takeoff the next morning..

Autozone pulled a PO753 Code (seems to have gone bad overnight) - I replaced the govener pressure solenoid as they stated - but did not fix the problem, still pulling same code and only goes forward in third gear...

I was able to bypass the 3-4 shift and TC lockup solenoids with a jumper wire - thus by passing the "limp mode" (third gear forward only starts)

Wondering what solenoid you replaced??? And it sounds like you also have a bad Governor pressure sensor / transducer
