if it fails all the wy or breaks you will not be able to drive it......at least not without ****** something up bad my suggestion is if you MUST drive it....be easy on the throttle and watch the sharp turning

if that comes apart, the axle shaft will be free and could destroy some teeth in the differential.....

Fix it, a new u-joint is $12 which is cheaper then replacing the shaft after you trash the yoke.

You should also replace the one on the other side since that ones toast. The other side isn't going to be that far behind it in wear.

mine failed on the same side and it was a pain to get the spindle nut off even with an impact wrench >.< but after that it was pretty much smooth sailing

^yup i just bought 2 for the front and it was 25 and change for both u-joints

I use a 3/4in breaker bar with 2 1/2 of 1 in piping as a leverage bar...standing on that, mine hub nut cracked free no problem...as to when i tried with a 1/2 in breaker bar i snapped it in half.....

I've never seen one that bad, that's still together. The seal is gone also ,with that much play.
