Default Tranny/TC question

Hey guys I have another tranny related question. Thanks for your replies to my previous question about what tranny I have in my truck. Got the tranny pulled out of the truck yesterday and picked up another working tranny to swap in. The question I have is that as I looked at the two TC next to each other I noticed that the "slots" on the replacement TC are larger then the "slots" that were on the original TC. The bolt pattern on the replacement TC lines up with the bolt holes on the engine. So this tranny and TC will work in my truck, correct? The new TC fits into the new tranny, its just that the "Slots" in the new TC are a different size then the "slots" in my older TC. I have attached pictures, the black TC is the replacement one with the larger "slots" in it. The gray TC is the one that was removed form the truck. Thanks for your expertise in advance guys.

Those "slots" are what turns the tranny pump. I could see the bigger "slots" causing play between the TC and the pump. This could lead to premature wear. What I don't know is how tight the tolerance is from the factory or wether or not it is a big deal. I would talk to who ever you got the tranny from or call a tranny shop in the area and see what they have to say.

Don't look right to me. I can see one of those ears snapping off real quick from all the play. Is there a weight welded to the front? Thats another thing you have to watch out for. 360's need a weighted converter.

The guy i got the tranny from said that it was rebuilt with a larger input shaft. Could that be the reason for the differences in the TCers?

In 1996 the 360 got a weighted flexplate so he will not need a weighted torque converter on his 2000.

Call the guy, maybe there was a mistake or he can explain what is going on. If the old torque converter fits then any other point does not matter.
