Default Pictures of the new shackle and process of installation. LOT's of pics

Aight so finally got the damn thing on, was a royal pain in the *** but i got it. I really need to invest in a taller jack seriously.

Alright here are the pic's

Before

After

Size: 60.5 KB

And here is the pic's of the new"er" shackle i got from the junkyard, there was alot of surface rust on it when i got it but i hit it with the wirewheel and took it down to the bare metal, not pitting or flaking at all so i just put some black anti rust spray on it to protect it. And i also took the wire wheel to the hanger, wasnt as bad as it looked once i got done. mostly just surface flaking and i also got that clean down to the metal and painted it.

lol heres a picture of the original one, how pathetic

And a side by side of the new one

here is one of the hanger once it was all cleaned up and painted

pictures of the shackle mounted and locked down tight

Now here are the things i used

#1 21mm socket and wrench
#2 whole can of PB blaster
#3 $4.00 can of Rust stop paint from ace hardware
#4 $3.00 shackle from the junkyard with good bushings and good bolts.

Total cost: $7.50 including taxes

Heres some misc pictures i took.

Freaking truck fully jacked up an the tire still wont lift off the ground.

good job the rust attacked and it looks like you won, how did the other side look, and did you try spraying some of the rust stop on the fenders

lol the otherside has a few more miles left in it, needs to be replaced soon though but it hasnt fully rusted through like the drivers side was.

i would have done both today but i couldnt get the other shackle off the truck at the junkyard because of the way they stacked the truck on the blocks.
