Default Advice on this one please

I am the proud owner of a 1998 ram 1500 4x4 5.2 (318).
When I drive the truck 25-45 mph it will bog down and sometimes backfire and or stall. It's hard to start and when it does start if I don't keep the gas down it will stall. I changed the plugs and wires. checked the dist cap and even changed the cap and rotor. Took it to autozone and had the computer hooked up and that told me 1,3,5,7 were misfireing and then took it back and it told me 2,4,6,8 /// 1,3,5,7 were mis fireing. If I drive it on the highway and take the overdrive off it will run fine but it also seems like I'm loosing power. I'm too broke right now to take it to a shop so if someone could help who has had this problem or knows what might be wrong I would be in debt.

Welcome to the naughty cat club. I'll be cutting mine off tomorrow probably.

Welcome to DF.

Most likely your catalytic converter, as others have already suggested.

I agree with the kitty cat club. Try removing the upstream 02 sensor and see if it runs better.

also look into the "Plenum Gasket".. yours will blow out....this could be the case of the cat being clogged....or the honeycomb broke apart....but if you havent changed the plenum with a hughes or aps kit, do it...because a blown plenum will clog up your new cat
