Default Power Steering Leak HELP PLEASE

2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Sport 5.9L

So I have developed a massive power steering leak. Im going through a half a bottle a day just driving to work and back. It is not coming from the pump or the hoses. It is coming out of the back of the part that the steering linkage connects to. Im not sure what thats called but it has a large seal behind it that the steering wheel goes into. It appears as if it is leaking out of that.
Does this require a whole replacement or can I fix this?
What is that part called? Rack and pinnion?
Is it hard to replace if I must?

THANK!!

that would be your steering box. Not sure if you can just replace seals or not, but I don't see why not. This is a well known weak point in these trucks, so maybe a replacement is the best way to go...

its the steering gear box.

you can buy a rebuilt one. the only hard part is getting the %#@# pitman arm off.
i think VWandDODGE did a diy on replacing the seals for only a few bucks.
there's also a pavement diy.

Any recomendations on a replacement? Should I just go OEM or is there an upgrade model I can get better performance out of?
With a pitman arm puller shouldnt it just pop right off?
