I'm gonna put a set of Wagner Thermoquiet Ceramic pads on my mom's 4Runner. They were $51 at Advance and there is a $15 rebate on them right now.

I think your right, I am a year older than him and the brakes on my escort only lasted 15k (or about 10 months). Bad Calipers/Lead Foot ftw! Hey, the rotors are only $20 a pop for those, and the pads are like $15 I think

NO! I dont do burnouts at everylight. The reason I replaced them, is because I did a project for Autotech demonstrating how to change the brakes, they had 5K mile on them , and since they were already off......

I have Wagner Thermoquiets and they work really well on stock rotors.
I have heard that Brembo is the best of the best when it comes to brakes.

I used to have Frictionmaster ceramic pads on there and they sucked. Right at the 1 year mark they were paper thin. Then at the 1 year mark with the replacement set, they didn't look like they had worn at all (they were crystallized/glossy) and they weren't working that well.
I won't be running ceramic pads again.
You might want to look up some reviews about the pads you are looking to buy, if they are anything like the Frictionmasters then you won't be happy after a few months.

I also found this http://www.carbibles.com/brake_bible.html It is worth a read, you might learn a thing or two about brakes that you never knew before.

This is from that article, something to consider when getting rotors.
An important note about drilled rotors: Drilled rotors are typically only found (and to be used on) race cars. The drilling weakens the rotors and typically results in microfractures to the rotor. On race cars this isn't a problem - the brakes are changed after each race or weekend. But on a road car, this can eventually lead to brake rotor failure - not what you want. I only mention this because of a lot of performance suppliers will supply you with drilled rotors for street cars without mentioning this little fact.

Just get any pad that has a good warentee IMO...then when they go bad just warentee them and swap them...it only takes like 20 minutes to do the brakes on theres things...

I just put on a set of the AZ mid-grade pad. Lifetime warentee 35.99....(I have an interview at AutoZone tomorrow at 2pm lol)
