Post 2001 Ram 1500 2wd extended cab leveling kit help

I am purchasing a 2001 ram 1500 2wd extended cab from my dad and want to spruce it up a bit. I am getting a heck of a deal on it to. It is a 1500 slt, 5.9 v8 with about 115k miles on it, and it very good condition. Anyways, I was thinking of putting a leveling kit and some 285's on 16x8 wheels on it. I have seen kits from 1.5" to 2.5". What should I get? I can not find any pictures of similar trucks with the kit installed. I was thinking of the 2.5" to get the most lift. I dont mind replacing shocks if that is required. The truck is white, so I am thinking of putting black wheels on it. I want to change the exhaust out also. Right now its stock. Any suggestions on exhaust would be nice also. I have always owned z71's but my dad bought this truck brand new, babied it, and now he has no need for it and he is selling it so cheap I can't go wrong to pick it up. I will take pictures of before and after to show all work.

it has 265's on it now. I'm sure with the lift I could go up one more size. Most leveling kits say you can go up to a 32 or 33 with the kit.

I got 285's on my 2WD with only 1.5" lift. 2.5" spacers will make the ride somewhat stiff, but does give pretty close to 3" of lift all together.
