Default P0142 and Detonation/bogging

I was driving around in the rain tonight trying to see who had power during the storm here after we lost ours, I threw a code P0142 while driving (checked and cleared it when I got home) My scanner said it was a HIGH VOLTAGE Bank 1 Sensor 1. I cleared the code (after googling I saw to clear the code and try driving again so see if it was a false reading etc. When I took it back out I stopped to get food I noticed when I was stopped in gear with the brake on, it seemed to have like reved itself once... just a little increase in RPM and back down. Then when I left the pizza joint it totally bogged down and what I think was a backfire, I can't distinguish the difference between detonation noise and backfire... (hence the post title.) I gave it gas and it seemed to recover then it did it again with the popping noice no more than 2 minutes later... then started to bog again so I floored it and it didn't pop but recovered right away and drove home fine. All the time the MIL never came back on.

yea, it was extremely wet out, slightly flooded. I thought that could be the issue to. I just had no idea what a bank 1 sensor 1 HIGH VOLTAGE code was, just wanted to make sure there wasn't an underlying issue I'd be ignoring if I just continue to drive it. Thanks guys I appreciate it

That DTC is indeed Bank 1 sensor 1, which means your oxygen sensor in the catalytic converter, otherwise known as the pre-cat O2 sensor. It plays a major part in helping the PCM control your air/fuel ratio.

If that sensor has gone bad, or doesn't send the correct signals to the PCM, your truck will do all sorts of weird things, including what you described. You may want to think about replacing it, so this doesn't happen again.

Is there a certain term for that sensor? I'll probably end up trying to replace the sensor myself as last time when I was getting inspected one went to charged me an arm and a leg for labor on a sensor
