Default Transmission won't shift.

2001 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 164,000 miles.I got the truck from my mom, she said it used to drive normal, then one day it wouldn't shift. She said, no codes, no lights, nothing strange happened it just stopped shifting one day. I can get it to shift, but have to be going over 30mph and rev up over 4,000rpms, let the rpms drop below 2,000rpms then slowly bring them up, all while keeping the truck over 30mph. I've changed the Governor solenoid and sensor, speed sensor, and filter and fluid and it still does it. The trans magnet had a significant amount of shavings on it, but nothing serious. I was thinking valve body, but it shifts smooth when I bring the rpms up. OD works, 1 and 2 works properly, it down shifts properly, just doesn't up shift. Any solutions?

First off, Welcome to DF , Secondly, If you do a search here, you will find thousands of posts/threads about tranny probs if you have not done so already. And lastly, I have one question, does the speedometer work correctly?

One other thing, fill out your sig with ALL the info about the truck, like if it's 4x4 or not for instance. This way you don't have to post the info every time and we don't have to guess.

So you going to do what I said? And more importantly answer my question? Ok, well at least you filled out the truck info, plus you can actually spell!

Sorry, yes the Speedo works. I have searched and that where I got the idea to change the sensors and check the grounds, and things. Nothing is working.

Well, usually the speedo won't work along with this very prob. But, there is a sensor on the tailshaft of the tranny you might want to try and replace. You also have no no ABS/Brake light on correct?

ABS works, no lights on at all. Just the no shift issue.

I'm no tranny expert, so I don't what else to say. Try replacing that sensor on the tailshaft if one exists on a 2001. Other than that, you have have to wait for some one more knowledgeable than me on tranny's. BTW, there is 2 sensor's. The gov and the tcc lockup sensor.
