Default 1997 4x4 OD problem HELP!

Hello all. Ok a little info to get started . I bought a 1997 1500 4x4 5.9 ext cab. 3 mts ago and have had a heck of a time figuring out the problem with the overdrive. When I get to 50 - 55 mph it stutters or kicks in and out of OD. If I turn off OD it goes back into Drive and seems ok. I have changed the torque converter had transmission rebuilt ,changed TPS sensor . My wife is ready to kill me so I am doing what I should have done in the beging asking for help from folks who have went through this. Yes , I should have brought it to a trans shop to start with. but I didn't . Now I don't want to keep putting out $$$ . Please any help Oh and another part that may be helpful the speedometer is working sometimes.....I Bought a speed sensor too replaced and did not help still the same works for a bit and then does not .... Thanks Ron

Do you know if the solenoids were replaced or atleast tested to be ok when the tranny was rebuilt?

Ok I feel Stupid now... I took truck to good transmission shop after they looked it over good he said the problem is not your transmission its the misfire in cyl 4 and 5 .... The valve s r bad ....and the mis firing is leading me to think it is a transmission problem... So I'm gona have to look around for a motor as this one has 220k and too expensive to rebuild right know since I just wasted my money on trans...

i'd get a 2nd opinion on that.
run a compression test on the engine. you may or may not have bad valves. you may or may not have cracked head. do you have any CEL codes that support the misfire diagnosis? that still doesn't explain why it kicks in/out of OD.

I Got the same codes from them as auto zone just $60 cheaper at auto zone.I remember one of the codes was P0304 and a random misfire and the # 5 as well forgot the codes #ers. He explained that is was not really kicking in and out of overdrive just felt as it was from the misfiring . I'm going to get a compression check and get back to you guys.
