Default backup light wiring help needed

im in need of some help for my back up light, i have a 6 inch work light under my bumper that is spliced into my stock backup lights, it works great for just backing up, but i need to hook it up to a toggle switch (even though i absolutly hate how they look) to see into my barn at night

now my question is, is there something i can put in line so it wont back charge my stock system? i am going to put a relay in it so its brighter but i dont want it to back charge and hurt anything

i am willing to give up it coming on with the stock lights and just putting it on a switch but i really dont want to
any imput will be appriciated

There you go. Relay when the gear is in "R". Toggle switch when not. DO NOT HAVE TOGGLE SWITCH ON WHEN IN "R". Not sure what would happen but It may be fine it may not. Ur call.
Need any help, pm me.

i would totally de-wire it from the stock tail light wires, and run it directly to the battery with an inline fuse...then the toggle switch will turn it on whenever you need them (Obviously)

It doesnt matter because of the relay. IT takes the load, Nothing else, No problems there.

EDIT:
DAMN IT, I messed up the wiring, hold on im uploading a new image, Thanks for that 95RAM. Owe ya one.

If you don't like the look of a toggle switch on the dash, you could always just tuck it up under the dash (near your knee's) and just reach under when you need to turn it on. I also wired my work lights to the battery and a switch, it's easy to do.

I would wire them on a seperate switch ... that way if you're hooking a trailer at night or working out of the rear you can have a light source

i think im going to,i use it to see into my barn at night and to light up ditches when i hook up to a car in winter to pull it out, but when i get out i usually just leave it in rev. and set the parking brake, i realized how dangerous this was when it started to roll back sunday night
-i know im an idiot for doing that-
im going to tuck the switch under my steering column so its pretty easy to get to i would rather be safe than i need an auxiliary reverse light
