Truck is heading to the shop :(
Well the other day i was driving home and my oil pressure dropped to zero so i stopped at an autozone i pass on my way home and picked up a couple quarts of oil to get me home. When i came back i started the truck up and the oil pressure read between 40 and 100 so I am thinking it is the sensor and hopfully not the pump. Also it has been making a squeaking noise which is either a ball joint that needs to be greased up or the serpentine belt. Also the turn signals and brake lights don't work so I'll have them fix that as well. The only reason I am even taking it to the shop and not tackling this myself is because we are going on a road trip in a week and I don't have the time to fix the truck by then. If you guys have any suggestions so I don't have to take it in and I can get it done myself in decent time I am always open for advice from you guys.
well if you let the oil get low the sensor on the oil pan will cause the gauge to bottom out and wont come back up to pressure til you add oil but if you do not reset the ecm it will continue to show up that the oil pressure bottoms out. mine did that once and i had to add oil because the oil was lower than the sensor
the brakes and blinkers happened to me....Got to the driver tail light...and follow the harness....when it gets to the first connector, my ground had broke right there....re-wired it and havent had a problem....

Ended up being a sensor, and turns out i need to replace two balljoints
. The factory ones apparently don't have grease fittings and they bit the dust. He is going to do the turn signals as well while it is there. Hopefully i get it back soon because i want to get started on painting my fender.

I have had a similar problem with my truck. I replaced my sensor twice and had the shop tell me that since I have a few kms on the motor ( 190,000 kms ) the oil pressure is a little low at idle. They told me, I believe, I might be wrong though, that sensor trips at 5 psi, and I was a little lower than that, with 10w30. They recommended going up to 15w40 and running a gauge instead of the "idiot light" on the dash. It sure is a bad feeling when that "check gauges" light comes on. Makes you assume the worst right away. I was wondering, how many miles on the truck?
He hasn't said anything about the lights, but I am hoping that is all it is. I highly doubt he will run up the bill my family has been going there for roughly 20 years and he takes care of us tries to get the job done right away and will give us a break on some serious repairs, he even lets us pick our cars up and pay for them the next day if we can't get them until the shop is closed. N its got 188x miles
