Default Gas tank

Pasted this from my new member thread....One problem i found when pulling into work the other day was a hole in the tank that they patched, but not very well and was leaking the 10 gallons I just put in. There was JB Weld on it and silicone (no clue why) over that. So I got some tank patch from the parts store and got it home, and re patched it when it was dry and clean with that and put JB Weld over the area to stiffen it up a bit. I have found some tanks online but not for the exact year. Are there changes in the 26 gallon for newer years? Would a 26 gallon tank from a 1999 1500 work on my 1995 Ram 2500? Might be a stupid question but I know nothing about Dodge parts.

Get 'yer measuring tape and check it out. There were a bunch of different tank configurations from '94-'02. Remember measure twice, cut once!

Heck they are different in the same model and year too!!
I got a 34 gallon and another guy has a 35 Gallon.

Bring you're VIN to a dealer and get a build sheet.

Call your local junkyard and ask them, they should have a data base telling them what will swap into what.

Figures, there has to be a ton of different tanks. Thanks for the help guys, Ill let you know how it goes. Maybe I should just mount a fuel cell in the bed. :P
