If that were the case then our trucks (per build sheet) have 2 gallons left when the light comes on. I have about 7 or 8 gallons left when my light comes on too.

i have a 26 gallon tank, why would it trip the light when i still have a 1/3 of a tank (if it does it at 7 gallons)

That's my point.
I have a 34 gallon tank.
Build sheet on mine says 2 extra gallons of gas.
When my light would come on it would take a shade over 26 gallons to fill it up.
thats 7-8....not 2.
Wish I new...
