95 ram LOUD NOISE please help
I have a 1995 Dodge Ram 5.9 4x4. At around 50 to 60 mph I get a loud screaming sound so loud i have to where ear plugs, It used to have a bad vibration around 30 to 45 mph and i replaced the yoke and u joints on rear driveshaft and that went away, If im going 55-60 mph it has that scream but when i take my foot of the petal it goes away I cant pin point where sound is coming from im thinking transfer case, drive shaft needs balanced, or the rear axel, How many weights does the driveshaft have on it for balance all it has is one. please help with any info you might have for me
have you checked the fluid in the diffs and tcase? my dad had a rearend go dry on him in his old dakota, it actually caught fire on him drivin down the highway. It was dark and he noticed fire comin out from under the backend...
might not be your problem, but it's possible that noise is your gears runnin dry
welcome to dodgeforum, hope ya get it figured out!

I did check the rear fluid, it was where it was suposed to be, i took off cover drained it but i did notice metal shavings on the magnet but all the teeth looked good, and added some synthetic fluid, you think it could be the bearings in the rear end.
