Default Changed diff fluid and painted diff

Pic to come, its just that it is rainy out and cold. I will get a pic and post tomorrow, but it is not really a big deal.

Oil used:
Lucas 80W90 50%
Lucas oil additive 50%

Other things used:
Copper core sealant
Fel-Pro gasket (was just silicone before...sliced my thumb scraping it off).

The additive made the oil so thick that when it got to the fill hole, it just stayed there. THe oil is so thick that when i wipe it away, the oil makes these silky strands of oil. It is not badly worn at all, but since the summer is coming, I just figured the thicker the better.

I used red engine paint to paint it. It matches the OEM red shocks and the body. Looks subtle.

Yeah, but my truck is pretty much stock except for the fastman. I just figured I would do something more while I had the diff cover off.

I have a feeling that repainting it will become a normal part of differential maintenance.

So there aren't drain plugs on the bottom of the diffs? You have to pull the cover? Never heard of that before.
