Default Driver side door won't unlock

My driver side door won't unlock from the outside for some odd reason. When I put the key in, the key won't turn. What can I do to fix this? Thanks.

Default Bad key

Chances are you have a worn key or bad copy of a copy. Find your local locksmith who is good with auto locks and he should either be able to decode the key and cut you new key to specs or decode the lock and cut a properly working key. I sure yout to jiggle it to get the ignition lock to turn right?

Well, the thing is, I can open the door on the passenger side just fine. But, my driver side door won't unlock from the outside. And I've tried my spare key, and it won't work either.

Try squirting some graphite for locks in there. It might help loosen up whatever might be sticking in there. It's a little messy, but it works most times.

I dunno about WD, nut that graphite can be found at lowes, home depot, maybe even walmart. It's made specifically for locks. It comes in a little tube that you just hold up to where you put the key in and squeeze the graphite in.

No no WD-40 works great. Did it on Grandmas Dodge Stealth. Only thing is, gets a little messy, if your not careful.

i was going to say wd40 also. it sounds like the tumblers or twisting stuff is frozen up and you need the solvent action of wd-40. if that doesnt work then try a penetrating oil like pb-blaster.

The small lever on the latch that moves up an down when its being locked or unlocked could either be broken or clogged up with crap, click on the link in my sig and flip through my pics i replaced mine not too long ago
