Default Please Re-assure me that my trannys ok :(

so i went out muddin today with my buddy out to the sand dunes....i was going up a steep hill that was all sand....burried it in 2wd....so i slapped it in 4x4, gave her the corn, and when i neared the top, it was boggin out a bit, and i dug myself a hole....

Backed up down the hill again, slapped it in 4 Low, tried again, got about halfway, then she started spinning and i dug a hole again, and i kept trying to give it some, and my trans temp light came on....i immidiatly shut it down....

Waited 10 minutes, started it again, and no trans light....it felt a bit boggy though....drove the 2 miles out of the woods in 4 High because i didnt want to spin or get stuck, i wanted to keep the rpms low....

Got to the main road, and i checked my fluid.....looks like theres some water contamination..................................... ............but the level was at the same spot it was when i checked it last week....fluid didnt smell burnt....Drove it home, and had to take the highway (20 miles) shifted through all the gears like normal without a problem, and i was doing 70...

Nothing seems out of the ordinary, but should i be concerned that the light popped on? ive parked the truck, and am flushing/filter changing her tomorrow....

Deff want to change that fluid and filter man, water in a tranny may not seem as bad as it would be in the engine but will still screw up a whole bunch of crap!

Goodluck you know the drill, take butloads of pics!

my understanding is that the Glue that is used to hold to kevlar onto the bands is water based and when water gets in the tranny it breaks down the kevar on the bands and its not good. THat is what happend to my tranny and i hada do a rebuild. 1300 later im all set.
