98 Dodge ram 1500 wont start

Default 98 Dodge ram 1500 wont start

I have a 98 dodge ram 1500 4x4 that will not start, Ive changed the coil, the crank sensor, the cam sensor under the distributor and still no spark . Ive tried seaching the forums but cam up empty. can someone help me out please or link me a post. Thanks Matt

Have you physically checked to see if you have spark, IE taking a sparkplug out leaving it connected to the wire and touching the block with it while some one spin's over the engine.

You can have spark and the truck still not start, if you have checked that then i would consider doing a fuel pressure test.

i had a problem with the starter fuse kept blowing on mine under the hood ..

Yes I have checked for spark,I have no power to the fuel pump to the instrument gages, no power at the coil or the distributor. but the fuse block under the hood tests good for power and i have ohm'ed out my relay's.

Ive had 3 different wiring problems in mine where the wires were so old, they just broke apart....which may be the case in your situation


Check ALL fuses, because some fuses run off others etc...


does it crank?

Finally I have it Running again, It was the Computer but what ive also learned this weekend is that you just cant grab a computer out of any 98 or 99.
