Default well I found another RAM..couple questions...

While I was making the payment on my wifes van friday afternoon I spotted a RAM that had been reposessed. so I went in to make my payment and just kinda glanced over at the board and it said 5K ( my first thought was NOWAY) lol but the finance guy came out while I was paying (and he knows I like dodge products) since I have a 99 RAM and my wife drive a Grand caravan lol....he just jokingly asks me "why dont you buy that '98 outside" so we talked a little about it and he said I can do you right on it since you've been a good paying customer for so long here. so I had to ask how much!! lol he told me he'd take $500 down (good faith money pretty much) and finance 3K on it, so a total of $3500 plus ttt. its a '98 quad cab 5.2 4x4 auto. exactly like my '99 color and all except mines straight shift.

the body is in overall good shape no rust at all, but it had some wieney *** tires on it that will need replacing VERY soon. havent drove the truck yet ( had to ask the wife what she thought and by that time they were closed friday) but she gave me the O.K on a couple conditions the truck would be HERS ONLY lmao and that I was only to invest money in it and not drive it, of couse she was j/k. the truck has 186K on it which I thought was alot for $3500 since I bought mine a 18months ago for 4K and it only had 98,xxx on it...my biggest question to you guys IS IT WORTH IT?

I dont have any pics as of now but could get some tomorrow...I know some of the things to check for when driving it tranny, plenum, etc etc and I know the plenum will need to be replaced unless its already been done and if the tranny hasnt been rebuilt then im not buying it.

should I look for anything else?
btw does both rear doors open on the '98 models? I didnt even check lol

Thanks guys!!

I think its a good deal, its 4x4 and pretty much anything 4x4 around me is no less than 4k, if it drives straight and seems like it has no tranny problems I would try and talk down to 3k and meet somewhere in the middle and be happy about it

i bought mine for 1800 with new rebuilt tranny, 4.10's only rust is on bottom of doors/rockers, new front and rear bumper, rims, and had new tires (which i swapped) My truck runs excellent....so IMO not worth it.

well if it was an individual im sure it could be bought for $2500 cash, but since it belongs to a finance company and they probably had to much tied up in it before the reposession to start with, they always charge more money plus all the finance charge BS. i'm gonna talk in more detail with him tomorrow and drive it as well IF I get off work in time and if it sells oh well it wasnt meant to be.

Thanks again!!

Get some pics up! Since it has 4wd and extended cab it would be worth it even with the miles. I'm sure you can work on the price a bit more. If he was willing to drop $1500 without hassle. You might be able to work on the price a little better

Most likely, but they made the club cab until about 2000. The quad cab was optional for those few years.
