If you only lift the front its going to sit higher in the front then the back. I don't think 285's would look that bad with the right wheels.

your best bet would be to measure from tire to wheelwells front/rear, then buy the front spacers accordingly to level it out. Probably a 2 or 2 1/2 inch coil spacer would do it.

If the front is higher than the rear it would look like crap IMO

Look dumb? Its a matter of opinion.

I run 285's with 6" of lift. Sure, some 35's would look better, but I don't have the cash to re-gear. Heres a pic...

Stock suspension with 285s is the best look IMHO.

Stock suspension with 285s also rubs A LOT. I have a 2" spacer up front with 285s and I think the truck looks great. The tires still rub at full lock though.

I have 285s, stock suspension, no spacers. I wouldn't say they rub ALOT, but they do rub at full lock on the control arms, something that coil spacers or a lift wouldn't prevent

285 70 17 on the left and 285 75 16 on the right.
Both are lifted 2.5" in the front and 2" in the rear.

That depends on the rims you have on the truck. The swirly rims like Maxx_Magnum has will rub the control arms at full lock and you can lift it as much as you want and it'll still rub until you get rims that have less back spacing.
