Default T-case swap glitch

Hello all,
Thought I would update. I traded for a 2001 2500 v10 last year with no 4x4.

Drove fine in 2 wheel drive till I could get it to my mechanic. He has had it now for a few months (he doesnt charge me much) and this is what went down.
The stock T-case (This is an auto) was so screwed up we decided to just replace it, it was flat worn OUT! Truck has about 147 thousand if I remember corectly.

Just trying to FIND a T-case around here took a couple months. Lots of em from v8 trucks but not so many from behind v10 or diesels.

Finally found one the super heavy duty one from a 1 ton with the pto for running a snowplow and such. And it needed rebuilt!

From everything I could find online I THOUGHT this was suppose to be a direct replacment, however it is not.

Everything fits the same but it is a inch longer! Not a big deal, $30 or so to have my front drive shaft shortend but I just thought I would let all yall know in case someone else has to do the same swap.
Have a great day!
Sammy
