I have a 2001 1500 V6 that had a blown motor when I bought it and I swaped the motor and trans out of a 1999 that my wife had wreck 5 years prior. The entire swap went really smooth, the only diffrences were the injector plugs and fuel line.

since the swap I havent been able to make it shift into overdrive, I have checked all the plugs on the sensor and everything is pluged in and there are no blown fuses, although I cant find a fuse for overdrive anyway.

the overdrive switch on the gear shifter appears to be working, when I press the button, the light comes on and it goes off when I click it agian, however I do not notice anything diffrent when I click it.

there was only 60,000 miles on the 1999, that I took the motor and trans out of and would like to use it because the motor and trans that came in the truck was noticably ragged out!!!!

before I just swap trannies I figured I would ask and see if there is anything else I can do.

nevermind I found it. after searching through many many post on here i found out the the 1996 - 1999 PCM's read diffrent then 2000-2001 go figure.

I have a feeling I'm going to grow to love this site...... lots of good info on here!!!
