Default Tire recomendations

I have a 99 1500 5.9 2wd x-cab with 8' bed. I pull a 1000 pound boat and trailer occasionaly dont off road ever its a daily driver mostly interstate, once in a long while I load it up to the max for hauling fire wood and stuff.

What tires will get me the best life and gas milage?

as far as best mpg's go, since you have stock gears, i wouldnt go with a tire any bigger than 265's..... as far as the best life im not too sure, the first set i ever had on my truck were bf goodrich all terrains and i had them for a year before i changed them, but the previous owner had them on for quite a while i was told, so they seemd to have had good life to them, i would suggest you stay far away from goodyear wrangler td's if you want good life, i got like 20,000 miles out of mine..theyre garbage in my opinion and ill never use them again... i just now switched back to BFG all terrains, the guy at tire discounters said they will be my best bet for longevity so i guess they might be a good route for you

Michelin LTX M/S. They have a 70,000 mile warranty.

+1, I bought my truck with those on it over 50k ago. I have been waiting for them to get bald so I could put bigger tires on, but it doesn't look like they are going anywhere any time soon.

I have never used Michelin Before, but Nitto's and Toyo's are pretty good.

Michelin LTX M/S my dad got close to 80,000 on a set before buying a new set and now this set has just under 70,000 with the last 15,000 being used by me, I'm young and like to have fun so when they still last that long with being spun and taken off the road and ran over coral rock you know its a good tire.

There quiet and smooth riding and never have I met a person who didnt like them, the only reason Im not going with another set of them is price and I want some mud terrains. But when I get older if these tires are still around I would still buy them
