Default Help with my gas gauge being off by a 1/4 tank

So I filled up my tank the other day got in and the gas gauge only went up to 3/4 of a tank. So two days later I decided to fill up at another gas station and the same thing again. So I was stumped till today when I noticed that my rear strap on the tank rusted out. So before I fix this should I worry about the gas gauge being off. Will it be correct once the strap is fixed or do I have to worry about getting a new fuel pump?

is it the ground strap, or the actual strap that holds the tank in place?

My gague does almost the same thing but it stops going down at 1/4 tank, in my case the float is stuck.

Its the actual strap that holds the tank in place. I just dont know if i should be worried if anything else broke when the tank dropped that little bit when the strap broke

Take a ratchet strap and use it to pull the tank back up into place before replaceing the broken tank strap and see if that corrects the issue.
