serious issues please help!!
so i have a 97' 1500 with 5.2 manual and a couple days ago my belt started squeeking and i thought nothing of it, just that i needed a new belt, well this morning on the way to work it was still squeeking and i had the radio up pretty loud and lately my clutch has felt kind of wierd, i had planned on putting one in soon. well i pulled in to the gas station and there was some serious vibration in the clutch pedal and very loud squeek mixed with a knock, but not like a rod knocking. then as i was leaving my truck was trying to die and do the same thing,so i pulled over and there was a ton of brown water coming from the front of the engine looked like it was coming from the bottom pully, might have been the water pump but i dont know, it was pretty low on oil, but only 2000 miles since the last oil change.
hmm, well thats a little confusing ok, the squeeling you're hearing when you push the clutch in could possibly be your throw out bearing going bad or gone bad.
The water around the crank pully could either be coming from your water pump, thermostat housing or timing chain cover.
was it running hot at any point ? cause the belt squeeling could have possibly been because the bearings were going out in your water pump and it wasnt turning enough water to keep the engine cool, and finally the engine got hot enough to blow the seal on the waterpump.
That would explain the rough idling cause most engines will run really rough when the temp is at max.
Also welcome to DF and dont forget to fill out your profile information such as your location and truck model and year. It will get you alot more help if people see your information.
