Anyone ever had their steering wheel not lock anymore when engine and ignition is off? Just started the other day...any comments appreciated...and yes i have turned the wheel looking for a click-its like the locking mech is gone...

 

I think there is a pin that pops in a channel and prevents the wheel from turning. I had a truck that did this but I never fixed it. If I remember right they wanted 200 bucks plus parts to fix it on a ford ranger. I didnt think it was too important and the truck had alot of miles on it and I was hoping for a theft or tornado so I could buy a new truck. I got neither.

Take it to the dealer for a free inspection.
