I do, but again, there is no need. I'm just going to patch for now. Like I said, this 318 isn't going to be in that truck for the rest of its days.... I might go out and try just for the hell of it, but it's not high on my list.

A new DIY will be here in a few days....

A little addition to your sig: "If you want to kill yourself and everyone around you, buy a Toyota." That would make your sig 100% true.

^^^^ditto!!
I had that happen to me the other day but instead of a cheby.... this is funny....... it was a prius..... i about lost it. he didn't rev up cause there is nothing to rev. but when the light turned green he hit the gas wot or close as a prius can get. so i paced him for about a hundred and then tromped on it and took his doors off. I think he was hoping his throttle would stick so he could get a dodge lol.

usually when a shop repairs the plenum gasket, thats all they do, the gasket. so you probably still have the steel plate, just a newer (albeit, blown) gasket.

How would one describe the 'ping' sound? I have only had my Dodge for a week, no problems with engine that I know of, but am unsure what I am to be listening for. I do not have oil consumption that I have found yet, so that makes me think I am okay for now?

Thanks

A minor blow won't necessarily give you the same symptoms as a major blow. You may notice almost no oil consumption and/or pinging at all.

But trust me... your truck is lacking in power and MPGs at least slightly due to a blown plenum gasket if it hasn't been fixed yet. All Magnum engines suffer this flaw.

lol, i was going through Kankakee, Illinois in ol' Maroon, traveling in the fast lane as usual, and got flipped off by a prius driver when i came around...so i nailed it....mind you my truck has no cat and only a glasspack that dumps in front of the rear tire...by about two feet....yea, the pipes can talk...i saw the driver's eyes in my mirror...they were like saucers....
