Default New guy with an exhaust issue..

I originally put thus un the wrong spot so i am trying it here.

I own a 1997 Dodge Ram with the 318 V8. I recently put a magna flow muffler on it, pretty sure its part number 11256, anyways since i put it on its been making a weird noise, almost like a farting noise (hard to explain) when you go hard on the gas. I'm not sure if its because of the way i put it on but I got it about 2.5 feet behind the c/c then muffler, then i got a 90 degree elbow and a straight pipe out the side infront of the rear tire on the passenger side. I want to fix it because it kind of annoys me. Any suggestions or ideas would be awsome.

Check the connections. If your pipe isn't inserted all the way into the muffler, any escaping gases will make a poping/farting sound. The best solution to this is welding the joints in place. That is you're ok with how it's run and want to leave it that way.

I got it coupled together with a 2 1/2'' inside diameter coupler, so it goes over the exit of the muffler and over the tail pipe, so i don't think there is escaping gas, could be tho. But like i said its kind of hard to describe the sound. I've been told it sounds like too much back pressure or not enough, kinda like a poot poot sound? And i'd love to weld it but its a stainless steel muffler and i'm not good enough with the tig torch to try.

is it a single flow muffler like most, meaning it only goes on one way, i have heard of simillar things with ppl putting the muffler on backwards, exit toward the cat.

I am absolutely positive that the box said something along the line of it has a "reversable design." Some one told me that it is because their is a 90 degree elbow right after the muffler so that might cause it, and also that their is only about 3 feet of pipe after the muffler including the elbow, so their isn't enough back pressure. So i don't know what to believe.

I believe im having that same issue the arrow on my muffler is pointing towards the front of the truck and I have alot of back pressure it feels like I'm just worried it was welded on backwards maybe its a stock muffler

the arrow points in the direction that the exhaust should be flowing...sounds like it's on backwards to me.
