oil pressure problemS . . help!! anybody??
i have a 99 ram v10 with a 97 v10 motor in it. says 7 qts of 10w30 so i put it in an the dipstick has no oil on it at all . . ADDED another quart an its half way up to "add" should i keep adding?? like whats happening why is this happening i cant figure it out let it sit idling then checked let cool for a few hours an checked it again . . any suggestions??
after you start it, you have to shut it down, and let the oil settle for about 10 minutes. you wont get a good reading if the motor had been running recently. Best time to check it is before you start it in the morning. So it had all night to settle...then you'll get a very accurate reading.
my 01 is 7 quarts on the nose.
Do you have a deeper pan or like the others said wrong stick?
EDIT
I should ask What is the oil pressure problem in the title?
