Tranny fluid change
All right, like alot of you guys I do not trust any joe shmo working on my truck. And it is time My tranny fluid is changed. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips or advice in this department. Best way to get all the fluid out, Do I need to change the filter. Stuff like that. Any input is greatly apriciated! Thank you!!!
you don't need to have alllll the fluid out for a normal fluid change, the TC holds a lot in it. And yes definitely change the filter when ya do it, and make sure you use only ATF+4! very important!
just carefully drop the pan, loosen all bolts then start removing them from one end, slowly lowering one end of the pan down to drain the fluid. PS: yer gonna get messy lol.... Some people like to go to a parts store and pick up a DIY drain plug, like 5 bucks and it'll make the next change so much nicer....
95RAM360 just changed his a couple days ago, check page 2 or 3 of this forum for his thread

There are plenty of diy's on trans filter change, which is why I never bothered writing a diy. I do have pictures from mine though if you'd like to glance through.

well technically there is a way, it involves unhooking the cooler lines and letting the tranny pump it out while running. I don't llike the idea of that though, seems kinda like cutting an artery and bleeding out, when you just went in for a blood transfusion
A normal transmission fluid change just replaces the fluid in the pan, and the filter.... both ways have their pros and cons....
