Default New gears - should I go with limited slip?

I have an appointment to get my stock 3.55 gears changed to 4.11's in about 2 weeks. I haven't decided yet if I want to also add the Auburn limited slip or not. I don't currently have a factory limited slip, so I am use to an open diff, but it would be nice to have some better traction in snow.

It is about $480 more to add. Is this worth the extra expense?
Thanks.

IMO it's worth the money to have it.

get it. . .you'll be kicking yourself later if you dont.

it's quite imbarrasing when youve got a 4x4, trying to pull a boat up a boat slip, or in the snow pulling something around and all you get is the one tire spinners.[:@]

What is the truck mostly used for? Is it primarily on-road, off-road, pulling? $480 seems slightly steep, you may want to way your options between a limited slip and a full locker.

Thats a no brainer in my mind. Got a big truck with all that work and you get stuck in the snow with 1 wheel spinning. There all gonna laugh at you

It is used mostly for winter time daily driving and year-round towing and load hauling. I do some occasional off-roading in the summer, back country trails and such, but nothing hardcore enough to really necessitate a full locker in my opinion. Also drive on dirt roads that can get muddy when it rains.

That price I gave was just an estimate he gave me when I first asked him about it. When I called him back today, he said it would be more like high $300's or low $400's.

Yah, for a street rig a limited slip is best. If you can learn to stay out of the throttle in corners, I'd personally go to a Lock-Right style locker if there's a significant price difference. The Lock-Right style lockers usually go around $300 new. Only downside is that you have to learn to drive it different.
