Default 98 Dodge 1500 Light Adjustment

Hi everyone,
New to the forum and to Dodge trucks. I just purchased a 98 Dodge 1500 2WD 5.2 automatic, with only 62,000 miles. Been well cared for and have been very pleased with it so far.

I see there is a lot of information on here and I found a thread that talked about adjusting the headlights. I found the two adjusting screws on the headlight, one at the top, and the one at the bottom. I can adjust the one at the bottom that I know lowers or raises the light. But the top screw that moves the light from right to left seems to have some sort of a clip over the head of the screw, so I can't get to it???

I don't want to screw something up. Can anyone help? Much thanks.

Mike

Welcome to DF.

Can you show us some pictures? There shouldn't be any sort of clip over it.

Sorry I don't have any pictures. There is definitely some sort of clip that looks to be folded over the head of the adjustment screw? It look factory to me?

Thanks for your reply.

I'd have to see a picture of it to know whats going on. Perhaps, if you are feeling brave, you could try removing the clip carefully, without breaking it.

Tried to remove the clip. Managed to break a small piece of the clip off one side. Can see the screw but no access to the head. Not sure how I could take a picture. Its such a small area to even get a screw driver into. Maybe they weren't adjustable? I can adjust the bottom screw tho. Just not the one on the top.

Jason,
Thanks for your help. I think I was perhaps looking at the wrong screw? After investigating a little further, I think I found the proper screw to adjust. Will know more when it gets dark here. Sorry I'm kind of old and have not so good eyes any more.

No biggie. I was wondering if that was the right screw, but without a picture, I couldn't verify.

Glad you got it solved.
