Default Upper Control Arm Bushings 2wd 1500

How do i get them out?

the stupid cam bolt goes through the thing so i cant get a ball joint press on it.

cut the bolt and get new ones?

the easier the better, i already have the new bushings.

Thanks in advance

you gotta remove the control arm, get them pressed out, and the new ones must be pressed in as well. its kinda a PITA to get to the control arm, but its possible.

yeah i know, i had the control arm off.

the cam adjuster bolt goes through both bushings and cannot be removed unless one of the bushings is removed.

the piece of **** ball joint tool i rented bent halfway through the ball joints so it was useless, but there wasnt a way to get it in place anyways..

so whats the preferred method? a puller?

i dont want to cut the cam bolts as they are $50 EACH =\

According to shop manual they are not serviceable.
You can find that info on page 2-8 of the service manual that can be downloaded from faqs section of this forum.
Thats why I didnt replace them on mine when i replaced everthing on my truck last year.

If they really need to be replaced, you can buy complete control arm with bushings and ball joints installed.
You better be sitting down when you price them, I remember it being around $1000 or more for all 4.
Rock auto has them
