Default Rock solid ram truck steering fix ????

I have heard mixed feelings about this product. Some say it works great until it get cold then it's to hard to steer. I really wanna make my steering tighter. Any help would be great.

Have you verified that the factory bushing is bad? And I don't have any cold temp issue with mine.

It gets rid of the looseness in the bottom of the steering column shaft, not left to right play. Go out and grab it where it comes out the firewall under the brake booster. If that moves up or down or sideways, that is what t he bushing fixes.

read what zman just wrote again, he told you to check the shaft after it comes out of the firewall, about two feet before the box...

If I'm not mistaken the rock solid kit fixes the annoying clunk these trucks get from the steering column. You can feel it in the petals and the floor.

Not sure how this kit could fix the left and right rotational play you get when the gear box needs adjusting.

Like I said, it does not fix left to right play.

i will tell you what. have someone who has done steering work look over our entire setup. because play could come from so many things on a dodge. tie rods, drag links. the box, the multiple joints in the shaft to the box...

you have to look and find where the play is. if its left to right. like in the steering itself, it is most liekly the box, and lack of grease in the OEM tie rods.
