Default Just got my Hughes plate, anything else I should do?

I did the disassembly last weekend, ordered the Hughes plate w/ gaskets, bolts, new intake bolts, and Hypertech thermostat, which all arrived today. I will be doing the reassembly tomorrow.

Is there anything you suggest that I do tomorrow also? I heard something about shaving off a tab on the thermostat?

The tab you heard about is on the thermostat housing, you do not have to shave it off but if you must access your thermostat with the intake in place it will be easier to get off and out from behind all of the belt drive hardware and bracketry. there is also a DIY on the plenem gasket if you print it out and follow it that should be helpful as well. hope that helps.

DO THE DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND ROTOR!!!..(like 25 bucks for both)..Its much much easier with the intake out...might as well go for plugs wires and coil as well...

also i brought my manifold to a machine shop, and had it professionally cleaned...looked brand new, and cost 40 bucks, maybe something to think about.

Get a new bypass hose if you didnt, (coolant line from WP to manifold)

Consider doing the kegger mod...trust me it does make the difference.

Do and oil change right after. you never know what fell in the lifter bay when the manifold was pulled.

Since you have alot of coolant out of it now, maybe drain the entire radiator, and put all new coolant in?

^thats what i did when i did my plenum

i just did the cap, rotor, plugs, and wires a few weeks ago.

I don't want to do the kegger mod. I did tons of reading about it and didn't see enough substantial evidence that it's really worth it. Tons of engineering goes into deciding how to create these things.

I don't want to do the timing chain as I didn't take off the water pump.

i knew you'd say that, but hey, everyone makes a mistake.........like that and the deathflash haha.

This is also one of the reasons why I won't put in one of those really low temp thermos, because the engine performance has been designed to operate efficiently around a certain temp range.
