Default 97 dodge ram 1500 4wd tryin to put 99 dodge ram 2500 rears in it

Hi guys i have a 97 dodge ram 1500 and i got the d44 in the front and it is to small i keep on breaking axles and the gears are 355's whice are way to low but i was at the junkyard and saw a 99 ram 2500 with bigger rears and 4.10s with posi so i was wondering if these rears would bolt in?if it would be an easy swap? What i would have to change?they look like the same setup just bigger...thanks

I believe you will have to change your mounts for the leaf springs as well as the shock mount locations. I'm not sure if your driveshaft will be compatible with the D60 pinion

they didnt change the rear driveshaft pinion bolt up set up till late 2000. (iirc) as far as doing the swap. yes it will work. do a search on the subject, there are many others that have done this and there is a DIY thread on it also. i will be doing this same swap this summer.
