Default Front End- F.Y.I.

ok as many of you have heard i use to have a hop when turning (like it was in 4x4)

So i replaced ball joints, u-joints, wheel bearings, axle seals, tranny mount, All the brakes, tie rod ends, and got new tires.

NONE of these fixed my problem. Went to the dealer, they said the "Stops" were backed off too much, and the wheel is turning to much causing binding. So i looked at the stops and they were tach welded in place.

So today i finally got a chance to flush my power steering fluid. Took it for a ride, and guess what, NO MORE HOP!!!! i kept turning and turning and it would not hop at all. Steering is MUCH better.

So i thought some people would like to know about this. Didnt know that old fluid could somehow cause a hop, but after flushing, the problem is fixed.

thats what my wife's mountianeer just started doing 4 days ago and i thought it was the linkage messed up cause it would catch then turn catch then turn and it ended up just needing to be flushed out.

Look at it this way atleast now you have all new parts and you just extended the life of your suspension by half

Thats a good tip, Thanks dvaughan! I've been wanting to flush the p/s system. I learn something new here everyday.
